DATA 101- PERSONAL DATA PROTECTION TECHNIQUES BY DR BRIAN ANG
Data protection techniques and safeguards can be used to facilitate and encourage data sharing to unleash the unlimited potential of what the data might bring. In this talk, details of personal data protection techniques, specifically, anonymisation techniques, the limitations of anonymisation and the associated risk will be presented. In addition, balancing anonymisation, risk and the usefulness of the data will be illustrated. Other possible safeguards in terms of the process and policy will also be discussed.
About the Speaker:
Dr Brian ANG has more than 10 years of experience working with data in diverse projects. Currently he is a Senior Manager in Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA). His current work involve personal data protection techniques and risk management. He also has experience in the field of data mining and video analytics from his previous portfolios.
